I am never doing this again, I muttered, again. It was 6:30 a.m., and I could see nothing but the blurry inside of the bathroom trashcan as the morning sickness struck me for the gazillionth time. I repeated this litany throughout my pregnancy, up until the day I went into labor.
Until I got pregnant, I wanted a big family. But when the nausea never went away, despite assurances that it would get better at 10 weeks, at 12 weeks, at 16 weeks, definitely by 22 weeks, my dream of four children seemed less and less important, until it was replaced with the painfully desirable dream of never being pregnant again.
